Flora Lofts Flora Lofts is the first phase of a mixed use development on a prominent site in the Dallas Arts District. Located between the Nasher Sculpture Center and the Meyerson Symphony Center, this piece will provide affordable artist housing, community retail, and additional public parking for local events. There are 47 residential units over street level retail and a sub-terranian parking garage. The building is scaled as a pavillion, floating on a glass plinth with the upper levels stepping back from Flora creating private terraces for the penthouse units. The facade is vegetated with continuous planters along the terrace levels and projecting window boxes that shade the windows on the primary building mass. The planting provides visual interest and allows the facade to change with the seasons. The Flora Street entrance is articulated with a vertical glass volume that contains communal studio space for the resident artists.
